Hospice at Home West Cumbria: – “I have been a professional fundraiser for 30 years and organised and attended many events including those which involved royalty, VVIPs, politicians, celebrities and Lords and Ladies. None of these compared to the incredible feeling of emotion, warmth, and celebration of your wonderful afternoon – it was one of the most exceptional events I have ever been to.”
Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Eamonn O’Neal, said: “We meet many people in our roles who are doing great things. We rarely meet organisations that are genuinely performing such huge community interest activities. Rarely, if ever, have I come across this kind of philanthropy from one organisation. The money donated will touch many charities’ and individuals’ lives, which was very evident during the proceedings.”
Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Linda Thomas said: “This is a remarkable story. One of the badges that I have on my civic regalia is Lord Leverhulme. He was the mayor in 1918 and before today he was probably the great philanthropist that we’ve had in Bolton, but I think now I’ll say that it’s Corin and Tricia.”
