Box Power were delighted that their social enterprise was able to help so many amazing charities at such a challenging time. Over 25 charities have been awarded grants to help them make an even bigger impact and we are very proud that our not-for-profit business has been part of that.
These charities – now more than ever – need funding to continue the fantastic work they do. Read below on how this funding will have a hugely positive impact.
I have been a professional fundraiser for 30 years, and I have organised and attended many events including those which have involved royalty, VVIPs, politicians, celebrities and Lords and Ladies. None of these compared to the incredible feeling of emotion, warmth, and celebration of your wonderful afternoon – it was one of the most exceptional events I have ever been to. It was about so much more than the incredibly generous gift which we, and the other amazing charities, received. It was about community, giving, recognition, and tears and laughter.
Your openness at sharing personal and difficult stories was humbling. And to be part of such a wonderful event is something that will stay with my colleague, Stella, and I for a very long time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making a difference to people’s lives and for walking alongside us as we support patients and their families during their most challenging journeys.
I can’t tell you how lovely Tuesday was to be a part of. It was a very emotional event and it was so lovely to also meet Ben and Tricia – what a lovely family you have. We were asked yesterday to tell a group about something which has inspired us and I had to say it was your event and your speech. Sometimes applying for and receiving a grant can be a difficult and impersonal process, but this was exactly the opposite.
I have just come back to earth after having been shocked to hear that you had generously doubled the gift we were anticipating. I was lost for words and very emotional, but thankfully Andy kept it together enough to speak!
I have been fortunate enough to work at Hope House Children’s Hospices for almost 14 years and the generosity of people like you never fails to amaze me. I found Tuesday to be truly inspirational and I was humbled by your story. One of our families, whose son Arthur died suddenly aged just two, said recently that out of darkness good things still happen, and that is certainly the case with you.
Throughout your life you have turned the challenges you have faced into positivity, and this has led you to where you are today, which must make you feel very proud. I have been a fundraiser for many years now and to see true philanthropy is not common. Thank you so much for showing me that there are still incredible people like you who put others’ needs before your own.
It was such a wonderful event on Tuesday. Zoe and I were overwhelmed. We’re still on cloud 9! We feel so privileged to receive your support and can’t thank you enough for your generosity. The donation of £30,000 will make a phenomenal impact to our small charity and benefit the lives of young disabled adults.
The difference which your donation will allow us to make on behalf of our deafblind beneficiaries in the North West is just going to be amazing. Thank you so much. Your kindness and bigheartedness have been breath-taking.
We can’t begin to explain what a difference this unbelievable donation will make to TCF, which supports parents (& siblings) who have lost children – at any age & from any cause. When our eldest son Tom died in an accident 7 years ago, we got the knock on the door which is every parent’s/sibling’s nightmare & our lives changed forever. When it happened, our two younger children – Jack & Lucy – didn’t just lose their brother, but they also lost some of us too. But with the help of TCF, they got us back and we do all we can to ensure that they have full, meaningful, and happy lives, despite their dreadful loss.
Your money honestly is a game changer for TCF. One of the big challenges it faces is that it’s a charity which so often seems to fall between the cracks when it comes to fundraising/donations and yet the need for the peer-to-peer support they offer is so desperately needed.
It really means the world and will enable TCF to each and help more people & we just wanted to try to explain what a difference your kindness and donation will make.
